Ahar Museum
An archaeological museum featuring ancient sculptures and royal cenotaphs of the Mewar dynasty.

Ambika Mata Temple
Built in 961 AD in the village of Jagat, about 50 km southeast of Udaipur, this 10th-century Shakti temple is dedicated to Ambika Devi, a fierce form of Goddess Durga. Constructed in the Maru Gurjara style, its outer walls are covered with detailed carvings of deities, apsaras, and mythological scenes, earning it the title Khajuraho of Mewar. The site is protected by Rajasthan's Archaeology and Museum Department and draws pilgrims and heritage travellers alike.

Ambrai Ghat & Gangaur Ghat
A picturesque lakeside ghat in Udaipur offering stunning views of the City Palace and Lake Pichola.

Bada Bazaar
The oldest market in Udaipur and a one-stop destination for everything Rajasthani, from gold and silver jewellery to Bandhani sarees, leather goods, and ethnic clothing. Located near the City Palace within the old city, its winding lanes are filled with shops and roadside stalls selling a wide range of local crafts, including Pichwai paintings and camel leather bags. The energetic atmosphere and proximity to the ghats make it a natural stop on any old city walk.

Badi Lake
An expansive freshwater lake on the outskirts of Udaipur, built by Maharana Raj Singh between 1652 and 1680 and named Jiyan Sagar in honour of his mother Jana Devi. Spanning around 155 sq km, it served as a lifeline for the city during the severe drought of 1973. Quieter and less commercial than Pichola or Fateh Sagar, Badi Lake draws visitors for its scenic Aravalli backdrop, three ornamental chhatris, and the popular Bahubali Hill trek.

Bagore ki Haveli
A riverside heritage mansion with folk dance shows and glimpses of old Rajasthani royal life.
Best Time to Visit Udaipur
Plan your trip around the right season
Why visit
Best weather for City Palace, lake boat rides, and old-city cafe lanes. Lakes are full after monsoon and the views are at their best in these months.
Keep in mind
Peak season with higher rates. Pichola and Fateh Sagar areas get busy on weekends.
Why visit
March is still pleasant. Lower tourist pressure makes it easier to explore at your own pace.
Keep in mind
Heats up significantly by April. Lake boat rides become uncomfortable in the afternoon.
Why visit
Monsoon fills the lakes completely and the surrounding Aravalli hills turn green. Very scenic.
Keep in mind
Rain and humidity can disrupt full-day plans. Some lake-facing roads get waterlogged.
