Tibetan Temple & Monastery

Tibetan Temple and Monastery at Sarnath is a centre for the Tibetan Buddhist community at one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world. The monastery features traditional Tibetan Buddhist architectural elements including a main prayer hall decorated with colourful murals depicting Buddhist cosmology and the life of the Buddha, prayer wheels along the exterior walls, and a collection of religious artworks. The resident monks perform daily puja and meditation practices. The monastery is part of the international Buddhist community at Sarnath that includes Japanese, Thai, Sri Lankan, and Chinese establishments.
