Bhadrakali Temple

Ancient hilltop temple between Warangal and Hanamkonda dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali.

Bhadrakali Temple sits on a hillock between Warangal and Hanamkonda, tracing its origins to the Chalukyan king Pulakeshin II in the 7th century. The sanctum holds a striking stone image of Goddess Bhadrakali with eight arms, each bearing a weapon, seated in a commanding pose with her lion vahana positioned opposite. Renovated in the 1950s, the temple draws large crowds of devotees through the year and offers views over the adjoining Bhadrakali Lake and the surrounding hills.
