Thotlakonda Buddhist Complex is an excavated monastic site on a hill overlooking the coast, with stupas and monastery remains dating back over two thousand years. The site offers a quieter historical counterpoint to the city's beaches and forms part of a wider cluster of Buddhist excavations in the Visakhapatnam region, alongside Bavikonda and Bojjana Konda.
