The area includes Otteri Lake and the Palamathi Reserve Forest, and its elevated position offers sweeping views away from the pollution and crowds of the main city. October through March brings the most comfortable weather for visiting, and the hills work well as a half day nature escape paired with other sightseeing in Vellore.
