The Old Rajbari, also called Amatya Kotha, marks the site of the royal residence from when Udaipur served as capital of the Manikya kingdom. Though now in ruins, the palace was built by Maharaja Govinda Manikya and once housed court proceedings and royal ceremonies. Rabindranath Tagore is known to have visited the site, which today offers a quiet, uncrowded space for visitors to walk through and imagine the grandeur of Tripura's royal past.
