Zoji La Pass, often approached via the viewpoint locally called Zero Point, rises to around 3,528 meters roughly twenty five kilometers beyond Sonmarg and marks the historic gateway between Kashmir and Ladakh. Once part of ancient trans Himalayan trade routes, the pass now carries the Srinagar to Leh highway and stays snow covered well into early summer, drawing visitors for dramatic photographs of the surrounding peaks. The road beyond Zero Point depends heavily on seasonal conditions, so access should always be checked before setting out.
