Dagshai Jail Museum occupies a former British cantonment prison about eighteen kilometers from Solan, its stone cells and gallows preserved much as they were during colonial rule. The jail once held Irish soldiers who mutinied in 1920, and Mahatma Gandhi is known to have visited the site. Today the museum displays historical photographs, prisoner records and personal artifacts, offering a sober counterpoint to Dagshai's otherwise quiet, pine shaded cantonment streets.
