Barog is a small hill station about eight kilometers from Solan, built around a railway station in Scottish colonial style on the UNESCO listed Kalka to Shimla Railway. Just beyond the platform lies Tunnel No. 33, the longest tunnel on the route at over 1,143 meters, built in the early 1900s and steeped in local legend about the British engineer who oversaw its construction. Surrounded by pine forest with views of Churdhar Peak, Barog makes for a scenic stop for toy train travelers and campers alike.
