Odegal Basadi

Odegal Basadi, also known as Vadegal Basti, sits about a kilometer from the Shravanabelagola bus stand on the ascent to the Gommateshwara statue. Built in the 14th century, it is one of the smaller shrines pilgrims pass en route to the summit. Its position just outside the main temple complex makes it an easy addition to the climb without requiring a separate trip. The basadi retains carved details typical of the period.
