Akkana Basadi

A 12th century basadi on Vindhyagiri Hill built with distinctive slanting stone pillars.

Akkana Basadi, built in 1181 AD, sits on Vindhyagiri Hill and is dedicated to Parshwanatha. Slanting stone pillars support the structure, giving it a slightly elevated, tilted appearance that distinguishes it from other basadis on the hill. Its black marble statues and quiet courtyard make it a contemplative stop on the climb toward the Gommateshwara statue. The temple continues to host regular poojas alongside its historical draw.
