Ranchi Jagannath Temple was completed in 1691 under Thakur Ani Nath Shahdeo, the king of Barkagarh Jagannathpur, and sits on a hill roughly 10 kilometres from the city centre. Its architecture closely echoes the original Jagannath Temple in Puri, featuring intricate carvings, towering spires, and painted depictions of Hindu mythology, though on a smaller scale. The temple's Rath Yatra draws visitors from across India each year, filling the surrounding area with festival energy and pleasant countryside views.
