Dassam Falls cascades from a height of about 144 feet near Taimara, roughly 34 kilometres from Ranchi, and ranks among the region's most visited natural attractions. Forested surroundings and accessible viewing points make it a comfortable outing for families as well as more adventurous travellers. The falls run fullest during and just after the monsoon, and its relative proximity to Ranchi keeps it a favoured half-day trip.
