Rajsamand Lake stretches across the heart of the town, built in 1660 by Maharana Raj Singh I as a famine relief project across the Gomati, Kelwa and Tali rivers. Its southern edge holds a grand white marble embankment lined with carved steps and cenotaphs known locally as the ghats. Evenings bring a golden light across the water that draws residents for walks along the promenade. Seasonal boating adds to the appeal of this expansive, historic reservoir.
