Sudama Mandir

A temple dedicated to Krishna and his devoted friend Sudama, built in the early 1900s near Porbandar's seafront promenade.

Sudama Mandir honours the friendship between Lord Krishna and his childhood companion Sudama, said to have been born in Porbandar. Built between 1902 and 1907, the temple stands near the town centre and draws steady footfall from pilgrims tracing the Krishna-Sudama legend across Gujarat. Carved pillars and a modest sanctum give it a lived-in, unhurried feel. Evening aarti draws the largest crowds, and the temple sits within easy walking distance of Kirti Mandir and the seafront.
