Porbandar Bird Sanctuary

Porbandar Bird Sanctuary protects a small lake within the city limits, dedicated in 1988 as the only bird sanctuary in Gujarat with legal protection for nesting birds. Despite covering less than a square kilometre, the wetland attracts flamingos, pelicans, herons, ibis, and a range of migratory waterfowl during the winter months. Boardwalks and viewing points along the lake edge make it accessible for a short visit without specialised gear. Early morning and late afternoon offer the best birdwatching light.
