The Pavagadh Ropeway, known locally as Udan Khatola, has carried visitors up Pavagadh Hill since 1986 and remains one of the steeper cable car rides in the country. The ride replaces most of the roughly 1800 step climb to the summit, though a final stretch of stairs still leads to the temple itself. Along the way, the cable car passes over the ruins of the old Royal Mint and Armoury, giving riders a birds eye view of the archaeological park spread across the hillside below.
