One of the 51 Siddha Shakti Peethas of India, Badi Patan Devi Temple is among the oldest and most sacred temples in Patna. Dedicated to Goddess Durga in her three forms of Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati, it holds deep mythological significance as the site where Goddess Sati's right thigh is believed to have fallen. The city of Patna is said to derive its very name from this ancient temple.
