Maramon Convention Ground

Maramon Convention Ground occupies a wide sandbank on the Pampa River near Kozhencherry, about thirteen kilometres from Pathanamthitta. Organised annually since 1895 by the Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association, the week-long February gathering draws several hundred thousand people and is considered the largest Christian convention in Asia. Scholars and preachers from India and abroad address the crowd from a raised platform on the open riverbed, with no permanent structure marking the site outside convention season.
