Pangong Tso Lake spreads across the remote Changthang plateau at over 4,250 metres, its brackish waters shifting through blue, green and turquoise shades as sunlight moves across them. Visitors walk the shoreline near Spangmik village, camp beside the water under clear Himalayan skies, and watch for migratory birds including the black necked crane. The lake stretches far into Tibet, though tourists are restricted to its southwestern edge. Featured in several Bollywood films, it remains one of Ladakh's most photographed destinations.
