Chauragarh Temple

Chauragarh Temple sits at the summit of Chauragarh hill, reached by a steep climb of nearly 1300 steps through dense forest. The shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is best known for the thousands of trishuls left behind by devotees over the years as offerings. The climb draws large crowds during Mahashivratri, when pilgrims make the demanding ascent in devotion, and the views from the top over the forested valleys reward the effort.
