Ensa Monastery perches on a rocky outcrop above Panamik, roughly an hour or two's walk from the village. Only one monk resides here, and the hall holds a few modest Buddha statues rather than elaborate decoration. Its appeal lies less in scale and more in the quiet of the walk and the setting, a lesser visited counterpart to Nubra's bigger gompas.
