Tiffin Top

A scenic hilltop at 2,292 metres named after British artist Dorothy Kellett, offering sweeping views of Nainital town, the Naini Lake below, and the Kumaon Hills - reachable by a 4 km trek or horse ride.

Tiffin Top, also known as Dorothy's Seat, sits at 2,292 metres on Ayarpatta Hill and is among the finest viewpoints in Nainital. The hilltop is named after Dorothy Kellett, a British artist who loved painting here and whose husband erected a memorial seat here after her death.

The views from Tiffin Top take in the full spread of Nainital town, Naini Lake far below, the surrounding Kumaon Hills, and on clear days, snow-capped Himalayan peaks. It is a popular spot for sunrise and sunset. The trek up from town covers about 4 km through oak and rhododendron forest. Horses are also available for hire from the base.

Best visited October to June. The walk back down through the forest is particularly scenic in the early morning mist.
