Baptist Mother Church

Baptist Mother Church, also called the Ao Baptist Church, opened its doors on 14 August 1938 with just five registered members in Mokokchung town. The congregation grew steadily and today counts thousands of baptized followers across 5000 families, making it one of the largest Baptist churches in Nagaland. The original structure of thatch and bamboo has since given way to a permanent building. Sunday services draw large crowds, and the church remains a defining landmark of Ao Naga Christian life.
