Medak Fort stands on a granite hillock built by the Kakatiya ruler Prataparudra in the 12th century to guard regional trade routes. Later rulers, the Musunuri Nayakas and Qutb Shahis, added fortifications, granaries, and a mosque within its walls. Three main gateways, the Prathama Dwaram, Simha Dwaram, and Gaja Dwaram, lead up a winding path through greenery to the summit. From the ramparts, the view stretches across the Deccan plateau, making it a rewarding stop for history lovers and photographers.
