Bhootnath Temple

Ancient 1527 Shiva temple at the heart of Mandi, focal point of Shivratri Fair.

Built in 1527 by Raja Ajber Sen, Bhootnath Temple sits at the center of Mandi's old bazaar and remains the town's most significant religious landmark. Constructed in Shikara style, the temple honors Lord Shiva and forms the ceremonial endpoint of the grand deity procession during the International Shivratri Fair, when palanquins bearing local gods and goddesses converge here from across the district. On ordinary days, the temple courtyard offers a peaceful spot to sit and take in views over the town below. Its central location makes it an easy first stop for visitors exploring Mandi's temple circuit.
