Built in the 15th century by Raja Sidh Singh of Kullu, the castle showcases a unique blend of Himalayan and European architectural styles. The castle is constructed using stone and wood, with traditional Himachali building techniques. It served as the capital of the Kullu kingdom for several centuries before the capital was moved to Sultanpur (present-day Kullu town).
