Dilkusha Kothi (Palace of Heart's Delight) is a historic hunting lodge and pleasure palace built in the early 18th century by Nawab Saadat Ali Khan of Awadh. The building was modelled on Seaton Delaval Hall in Northumberland, England, reflecting the eclectic tastes of the Nawabs. The palace was heavily damaged during the 1857 Revolt and today stands as a picturesque ruin maintained by the ASI. The crumbling arches, scattered stonework, and old trees growing through the walls create a melancholic but atmospheric heritage site. The surrounding gardens and cannon remnants from 1857 add to the historical atmosphere.
