Sendra Island rises like a raised hillock from the middle of Loktak Lake, linked to the mainland by a walkway. Visitors climb to the top for sweeping views across the lake and its floating phumdis, watching fishermen navigate the water in narrow canoes. A tourist bungalow and cafeteria sit on the hilltop, making it a popular stop for boating, photography, and simply taking in the scale of India's largest freshwater lake. Sunset from here is especially striking.
