Swaminarayan Temple, Bhuj

A white marble Swaminarayan temple in Bhuj rebuilt after the 2001 earthquake with intricate carved architecture.

The Swaminarayan Temple in Bhuj is a striking white marble structure built under the Nar Narayandev Gadi tradition of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. The original temple suffered severe damage in the 2001 earthquake, and the current building was reconstructed through devotee contributions from across the world. Ornate pillars, domes and carved spires depicting Hindu mythology give the temple its distinct character. Its mosaic flooring and peaceful courtyard make it a calm stop for visitors touring Bhuj's heritage sites near Hamirsar Lake.
