Bhujodi Village, about ten to twelve kilometres from Bhuj, is home to a close knit community of weavers, dyers and craftspeople who have practised handloom weaving for generations. Visitors can watch artisans work at traditional looms producing shawls, stoles and other textiles, many of which are available for purchase directly from the weavers. The village was badly affected by the 2001 earthquake but has since rebuilt its craft economy. It offers a grounded, unhurried alternative to Bhuj's palace circuit for travellers interested in Kutch's textile traditions.
