Sri Lankan Buddhist Monastery

Sri Lankan Buddhist Monastery at Kushinagar was built by the Sri Lankan Buddhist community and is one of the largest international monasteries at the Mahaparinirvana site. The monastery features traditional Sri Lankan Buddhist architecture and houses important Buddhist relics and art. Sri Lanka has a historically deep connection to Kushinagar — the first major Buddhist missionary mission went from India to Sri Lanka, and the island nation has venerated this site for centuries. The monastery complex includes a residence for monks, a prayer hall, and meditation gardens, and welcomes pilgrims and visitors from around the world.
