Someswarar Temple is located in the southern portion near the Sarangapani Temple and dates to the 13th century during the Chola period. The temple faces east and features a distinctive 5-tiered gopuram. The architectural elements reflect authentic Dravidian style characteristic of the Chola period. Additional shrines dedicated to Arumugam and Thenar Mozhi Ammal enrich the temple complex. The temple exemplifies the refined stone-carving traditions of medieval Kumbakonam.
