Belkal Theertha

A remote 300 foot waterfall inside Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary reached by a moderate forest trek from Mudoor.

Belkal Theertha, also known as Govinda Theertha, drops from around 300 feet within the Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary and pairs a holy reputation with a genuinely demanding approach. The trek covers four to five kilometres one way from the Mudoor trailhead through dense semi evergreen forest, taking three to four hours round trip for a moderately fit visitor. Monsoon months bring the fullest flow but also leeches and slippery paths, so October to December is generally considered the better window for a visit.
