Keezhthali Mahadeva Temple sits on a small hill in Kodungallur and centres on an unusually large Shivalingam, roughly eight feet tall and seven and a half feet in radius, said to be centuries old. The temple's elevated position gives visitors a wide view over the surrounding town, especially striking at sunset when oil lamps are lit around the sanctum. It draws devotees from across the district for its ancient character and remains an active site of daily worship.
