Chaskaman Dam holds back the Bhima river a short drive from Khed on the road toward Bhimashankar, its reservoir stretching for several kilometres through a quiet valley. The dam is a favourite day trip for families and photographers, especially after the monsoon when the water runs clear and the surrounding hills turn green. Birdwatchers frequent the banks, and the drive itself, winding through villages and open farmland, is part of the appeal. Small stalls near the site sell tea and snacks.
