Once a fortified outpost built with distinctive thin bricks measuring twenty three by fourteen centimetres, Numaligarh Fort now survives only in scattered fragments across the Numaligarh Tea Estate area. Highway construction and estate development have reduced much of its original footprint over the years. What remains offers a quiet, offbeat stop for visitors tracing Assam's Ahom era military history alongside the nearby Deopahar ruins nearby.
