Built by the Mayippadi Rajahs, a branch of the Bednore Nayaks, Maipady Palace served as the seat of the Kumbala kings and still stands as a private residence today. The building shows a central courtyard, sloping tiled roofs, and carved wooden pillars typical of traditional Kerala palace design, with a small temple and plantation on its grounds. It is not open for interior visits, but the exterior and surrounding countryside make it worth a stop en route to Madhur Temple.
