Arikady Fort

Also called Kumbla Fort, a lateritic hillock fortress from the Keladi Nayaka era with an adjoining Hanuman temple.

Also known as Kumbla Fort, Arikady Fort sits on a lateritic hillock between the Kumbala and Shiriya rivers, believed to date to the Keladi Nayakas' rule in the 17th century. Archaeological excavations in 2015 uncovered a large congregation hall along with pottery, roof tiles, and lead bullets, adding historical weight to the site. A Hanuman temple stands just below the fort, and though overgrown in places, the location along NH66 keeps it accessible for a brief stop.
