Puliyarmala Jain Temple, also known as the Ananthanatha Swami Temple, stands about five kilometres from Kalpetta on the road to Mananthavady. Built in the 13th century in Dravidian style, it holds a rare standing statue of the Jain Tirthankar Ananthanatha Swami along with carved stone pillars. Locals call it Tipu Fort, since Tipu Sultan is said to have stored ammunition here during his campaigns. A small Gandhi memorial museum shares the same grounds, adding recent history to an ancient site.
