Ladai Garh preserves the ruins of a fort built by the Ahom king Swargadeo Pratap Singha in the 17th century as a strategic military base against enemy incursions. Though little remains beyond scattered earthworks and foundations today, the site still conveys a sense of Assam's Ahom era defensive architecture and military planning. Local guides can point out the layout and explain the fort's role in protecting the kingdom's eastern frontier.
