Lachit Borphukan's Maidam is a memorial built in honour of the Ahom general Lachit Borphukan, celebrated across Assam for leading the decisive victory over the Mughal army at the Battle of Saraighat in 1671. The site pays tribute to his military leadership and his role in preserving Ahom sovereignty during one of the most consequential conflicts in the region's history.
