Dimna Lake

An artificial lake at the foothills of the Dalma range, 13km from the city, known for boating and mini treks.

Dimna Lake lies about 13 kilometers from central Jamshedpur at the foothills of the Dalma range, created by damming the Subarnarekha to supply water to the city and the steel plant. Surrounded by deciduous forest, the lake offers boating, rowing, and jet skiing, along with short treks into the neighboring hills. Winter mornings bring a light fog over the water that draws photographers and early risers alike. The Tata Steel Adventure Foundation runs rock climbing and zip lining nearby.
