Pisanhari Ki Madiya

15th-century Jain temple complex with 13 shrines built by a poor woman''s devotion.

Pisanhari Ki Madiya crowns a 300-foot hill with a complex of 13 interconnected Jain temples. Legend credits a poor woman named Pisanhari who saved enough money from grinding flour to build the original temple in 1442. The sprawling 18-acre campus includes the ornate Nandishwar Dweep Jinalaya housing 152 marble Tirthankara idols and a towering 55-foot Bahubali statue. Serene gardens, a dharmshala, and meditation areas surround the temples. Climbing 350 steps through lush vegetation leads to temples offering sweeping views of Jabalpur's southern expanse, creating a peaceful spiritual retreat.
