The Hanumantal Bada Jain Mandir stands as one of India's largest independent functioning Jain temples, established in 1686 near Hanuman Lake. Its fortress-like appearance with numerous shikharas housing 22 shrines dedicated to various Jain Tirthankaras creates an impressive architectural complex. The temple contains rare Kalachuri-period sculptures including an ornately crafted Lord Adinath idol, plus images from Mughal, Maratha, and British periods. The sanctum sanctorum of Goddess Padmavati was constructed in 1886. Daily shastra-sabha classes and the annual Mahavira Jayanti procession make this temple a living center of Jain worship and learning in the region.
