Samban Lei Sekpil Garden

A garden five kilometres from the city centre, home to a record breaking sixty one foot tall shrub.

Samban Lei Sekpil Garden takes its name from a shrub, botanically known as Duranta Repens, that has grown to an extraordinary sixty one feet in height. Discovered in 1983, the shrub earned entries in both the Limca Book of Records and the Guinness Book of Records for its unusual size. Once moved for public exhibitions, it now stands permanently within the garden, making the site a curious and easy addition for visitors exploring Imphal's outskirts.
