Langthabal

A hillside site on the Indo Burma Road known for old temples set among jackfruit and pine groves.

Langthabal sits along the Indo Burma Road about eight kilometres west of Imphal and holds a cluster of temples and historical monuments dating from Manipur's royal era. Jackfruit and pine plantations surround the architectural remains, giving the site a wooded, unhurried character distinct from the busier core of the city. Langthabal appeals mainly to visitors interested in Manipur's older religious architecture away from the main tourist circuit.
