Sant Sarovar Dam holds back the waters of the Sabarmati river and has become one of Gandhinagar's most frequented picnic destinations. Its proximity to Sarita Udyan makes it easy to combine both stops on a single outing. The dam offers scenic views at sunrise and sunset and draws photographers and birdwatchers for the variety of species found nearby. During monsoon the currents grow stronger, so visitors are advised to stay cautious near the water's edge.
