Badkhal Lake, roughly eight kilometres from the Delhi border, was once a popular boating and birdwatching destination formed against the Aravalli hills. Years of nearby mining activity gradually dried up the water body, and the site has since transformed into open grassland used for recreational events and gatherings rather than water-based activities. Visitors coming today should expect a scenic hill-backed landscape and occasional organised events rather than the lake itself, which no longer holds water in any meaningful sense.
