Shiva Temple, Singrijan

A Shiva shrine in Singrijan village built in 1961 after a stone believed to be a Shiva Linga was found.

The Shiva Temple at Singrijan traces its origins to 1961, when a villager sharpening a knife on a stone near Rangapahar noticed liquid seeping from it and later dreamed the stone was a manifestation of Lord Shiva. Local devotion grew from that account, and villagers eventually built a temple around the stone. It now draws Hindu devotees from across the region for daily prayers, and the origin story itself has become part of how the temple is presented to visitors unfamiliar with its history.
